RULES AND REGULATIONS

APPICATION PROCEDURE

* Accepting Online Application only

* Participants must upload the Video recording on YouTube.

DEADLINE AND FEE

* Application Deadline : November 17th, 2024

* Late application Deadline : December 1st, 2024

* Solo Fee : $150 (Late fee : $180)

* Chamber Music Fee : $90/each (Late fee : $120/each)

ELIGIBILITY

* Eligible age : Age 6 to Age 29

* Eligible category : Keyboard, String, Woodwind, Brass, Voice and Chamber music.

   - Keyboard : Piano, Harpsichord, Organ

   - Strings : Violin, Viola, Cello, Double bass, Harp, Guitar

   - Woodwinds : Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Saxophone

   - Brass : Trumpet, French horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba

   - Voice : Classical, Musical, Opera, Folk (Jazz and pops are not allowed)   

   - Chamber Music : Duet to Octet


* Age category for Solo: 

   - Age 6 - 9
   - Age 10 - 12
   - Age 13 - 15
   - Age 16 - 18
   - Age 19 - 29

* Age category for Chamber Music: 
    - Age 18 and below
    - Age between 19 and 29.

* Electric instruments are not allowed except an accompaniment.

* Orchestra and Choir are not allowed.

REPERTOIRE

* One substantial piece of your choice from any standard repertoire.

* A movement of concerto or sonata could be accepted as one piece.

* Do not exceed 20 min on the time of your performance.

* For Voice : any one song from opera aria, classical repertoire, folk/traditional, and musical.

* Changes of repertoire are NOT allowed after the online application is submitted.

REQUIREMENTS

* Memorization is not mandatory.

* Participants must perform the original music. Simplified editions, arrangements, non-classical, or any music from method books are not allowed. (Except age 6 and 7)

* Participants can perform without an accompaniment due to the current circumstances and the uncertainly surrounding the coronavirus outbreak. (Covid-19)

* All participants must NOT perform on electric instruments.

* Jury’s comments will not be disclosed.

* All jury’s decisions are final and appeal is not accepted.

RECORDING RULES

* Participants must submit an unedited video recording except for stops between each movement.

* If any unaccepted editing or touch-up on the soundtrack are found in the video, the participants will be disqualified without notification.

* Do NOT privatize the Youtube videos. Make sure they are public.

* Please include: Your Name / Age / Title of the piece / Composer on Youtube title or video file.

* Only accepting accompaniment with a pianist. Ensemble, orchestra, or any other accompaniment is not allowed.

* In order to clearly evaluate the participant's performance, the video and audio recording must be of sufficiently high quality.

* The camera angle must be fixed and not moving.

* Only 1 camera angle is allowed. Putting multiple cameras into 1 file is not allowed.

* Performance must be recorded within 10 months prior to the application submission.

* Faces, instruments, and performance gestures (hands and pedals) must be filmed clearly in the video.
